CRAC’s staff of ten, all local Coen people (eight women and two men, one local non-Indigenous person), includes a senior management team of two: a CEO with twenty-five years of experience in leadership roles within Indigenous organisations and a General Manager with a strong local background and six years of managerial experience, with a Bachelor’s degree in management.
The CEO oversees all commercial and financial activities, manages relationships with third parties and the government, and ensures compliance with all regulations, with significant duties delegated to the General Manager. This commitment to local employment and development has led to high staff retention, with all current positions filled by trained and qualified local personnel.

The CEO reports directly to the Board of Directors and manages all company relationships with third parties and government relations. From time to time, the CEO incorporates the participation of Company Directors and other local Indigenous leaders in government negotiations. The CEO develops annual budgets, monitors cash flow, contract and financial administration and ensures all regulatory compliances are met including the engagement of and preparation by independent financial auditors of Independent Audited Financial Statements. Tasks are often jointly managed with the GM through delegation of duties.
All commercial activities and financial management are directly overseen by the CEO, while all program activities are overseen by the GM who has four direct reports; Justice Program Project Officer, Women’s Shelter Coordinator, Family Resource Officer and Centrelink sub-agent Officer.
CRAC maintains a high staff retention rate and with little staff turnover all positions within the organisation are currently filled. All current staff are qualified and experienced in their roles and where required have been trained into their roles by the CEO or GM.
All recruitment within the organisation targets local people and to date, there has been no requirement to engage employees from outside Coen.
